Welcome

Haijian Yang

PhD Candidate | Marquette Univeristy

Background

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical Engineering at Marquette University, affiliated with the Materials, Metallurgy, and Advanced Manufacturing research group. My research focuses on the mechanical performance and microstructural evolution of Al- and Ti-based alloys processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion (L-PBF). I am particularly interested in understanding how macroscale mechanical behaviors relate to the intrinsic microscale structural features.

Research Interests

Additive Manufacturing (AM), Laser Powder Bed Fusion (LPBF), Metallurgy Characterization, Mechanical Behavior Testing (Tensile, Creep, Fatigue, etc), Post Heat Treatment (HIP, Aging, etc), Metallurgy, Finite Elements Method (FEM), Discrete Dislocation Dynamics (DDD)
